Welcome back!
As we partner with you to support your research endeavors, we're excited to provide several new online resources. We hope these sites will offer the information you need to successfully prepare and submit Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) and Animal Care and Use Program (ACAUP) protocols that demonstrate best ethical practices and participant/animal subject protections, as well as ensure compliance with local, state, and federal research regulations.
We're still developing and refining some pages, so we appreciate your patience during this building and revision phase. If you have suggestions, questions, or catch any errors, we welcome your input.
Housed within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, the programs in the Research Integrity and Compliance unit support faculty, staff, and students in advancing a culture of research excellence at WWU.
We serve as the primary resource for evaluating, interpreting, and assuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies that promote the highest ethical standards in all research areas. We're here to help educate our campus research community in establishing proactive measures to promote and support integrity, compliance, and accountability.
Human Research Protections Program
The Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) supports members of the campus community who engage in human participant research, as well as non-research activities involving collecting data from living individuals.
Animal Care and Use Program
The Animal Care and Use Program (ACAUP) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversee the university's animal programs, facilities, and procedures ensuring the appropriate care, use, and humane treatments of animals involved in research and education.
Research Compliance
The Research Compliance program enables WWU research by ensuring that it is conducted in accordance with the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and honesty as well as in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies governing research to maintain the public trust.
We're here to help your research happen!
We offer a variety of educational outreach opportunities for campus faculty, staff, and students.
