Follow these instructions if you already have a CITI account that is affiliated with WWU and need to add a course to your account. You can repeat the steps below at any time to add more courses to your account.
Don't have a Western Washington University affiliated CITI account yet? Refer to How to Register for CITI Trainings.
Step 1
Login to CITI using your WWU affiliated account.
Make sure to use the "login" option NOT "login through my organization." (WWU does not have "single origin sign on" (SSO) for CITI.)
Step 2
Click "View Courses" for Western Washington University.
Step 4
Scroll to bottom of course page where you see will see "Learner Tools for Western Washington University." Click on "Add a Course."
Step 5
Read through "Select Curriculum" options and select appropriate responses. After you select the appropriate course(s) and submit your responses, the course(s) be added to your "My Courses" page for you to complete.
Reminder for Students: Unless you are a Principal Investigator (PI) on a NSF, NIH, or NASA grant you should NOT complete the Research Security or Disclosure Trainings.

Step 6
Select appropriate research role.
Step 7
Select "Human Participant Research (HRPP/IRB protocol)."
Step 8
ONLY IF you have been assigned additional training(s) by HRPP staff, select yes.
Step 9 (If additional trainings assigned by HRPP staff)
If assigned, select appropriate additional HRPP course.
After you finish the "Select Curriculum" questions you will be taken back to the "My Courses" page where you can begin the course(s) you just selected.

Step 6
Select appropriate research role.
Step 7
Select "Federally funded research requiring Responsible Conduct of Research 'RCR' training."
Step 8
Select appropriate training type. If you have not completed WWU RCR training before select "RCR Basic." If you have already completed WWU RCR training, select "RCR Refresher."
After you finish the "Select Curriculum" questions you will be taken back to the "My Courses" page where you can begin the course(s) you just selected.

Step 6
Select appropriate research role.
Step 7
Select "Animal Subjects Research (ACAUP/IACUC protocol)."
Step 8
Select the required "Working with IACUC" course.
Step 9
If animal type listed on your protocol is listed select it. If your animal type is not listed select "The animals I plan to work with are not listed."
Step 10
ONLY IF you have been assigned additional training(s) by ACAUP staff, select yes.
Step 11 (If additional trainings assigned by ACAUP staff)
If assigned, select appropriate additional ACAUP/IACUC course.
After you finish the "Select Curriculum" questions you will be taken back to the "My Courses" page where you can begin the course(s) you just selected.
Review the requirements page for information about Research Security Training and who is required to complete it.
NOTE: This is NOT the same as Responsible Conduct of Research "RCR" training.
Step 6
Select appropriate research role.
Step 7
Select "National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project (or other project) requiring Research Security training. Do not take this training unless your project requires it. Read more about requirements on the Research Security Training page.
Step 8
Select "Research Security Training."
After you finish the "Select Curriculum" questions you will be taken back to the "My Courses" page where you can begin the course(s) you just selected.
Review the requirements page for information about disclosure training for NIH proposals and who is required to complete it.
NOTE: This is NOT the same as Responsible Conduct of Research "RCR" or Research Security trainings.
Step 6
Select appropriate research role.
Step 7
For type of research select "National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded project requiring disclosure training."
After you finish the "Select Curriculum" questions you will be taken back to the "My Courses" page where you can begin the course(s) you just selected.
